Motherhood Is

My journey to Motherhood began 16 years ago. I was pregnant with Courtney and not sure what I was doing. But as soon as I held that sweet baby in my arms I was smitten. Courtney was my first, she still is my #1 go to girl. I love spending time with her.

14 years ago I was pregnant with Alex and I felt more comfortable in my role as a mom. He was such an easy baby and so sweet. He still is easy going (despite his red hair) and sweet. He still says he loves me. I can always count on Alex.

4 years ago I was pregnant with Claire. I was so nervous. Not to have another baby. But I was nervous because it had been 10 years since I had a baby. I had been through a lot in those 10 years. I was a little more selfish, I had a taste of what Motherhood was like once your kids were more independent. When Claire came in to this world and I saw Scott as a father I knew it would be ok. But she has also been naughty. She is sneaky. She is hilarious. And Claire is the most loving person I know. I can always count on her to blow me a kiss and cuddle.

Last year Oliver completed our family. He was so chill from the get go, although that has changed a bit over the last few months. He is demanding and sweet. He loves to dance and laugh. He loves to give the best kisses and hugs. Oliver has been easier than Claire in a lot of ways and he has made me stretch as a mother.

Each of my children are amazing. Each of my children is an individual. Each of my children bring something amazing in to my life. I will never be the same. They have given me purpose. They have given me the ability to love more than I ever thought possible. I am grateful for them.

And my own mother has shown me how to be selfless. She has taught me how to be a mom. And I wouldn’t be who I am without her. Thank you Mom, I love you.
